She has been on the Wilkes County HBA Board of Directors for two three-year terms and strongly believes in attending local HBA meetings and that every member should be involved.

Hobbies: Telephone conversations, walking, hitting golf calls at driving range (didn’t say playing golf, just practicing), being with my two grandchildren, yard work (any work!), living!

First Job: Worked for an elderly contractor.  He taught me extraordinarily great about construction and prepared me for a wonderful career at Lowe’s of Wilkesboro.

If you had 15 minutes in front of the NCHBA membership, what would you say about membership ecruitment/retention? Recruiting memberships is like an opportunity to sell.  First, describe the merchandise, then, ask for the sale.  We do this daily, and love every minute.

Every member should focus on retaining this new member.  Friendliness or neighborly is excellent toward retention of membership.  I feel so welcome at Wilkes County Home Builder’s meetings.  Interesting programs and delicious foods are retainers for membership.  Most enjoyable for me!
