Committee Description: Provides supplementary representation of the total membership in a cooperative effort for the benefit of the association.

Building Codes
Chair:  Erik Anderson
Vice Chair: Ken Corbo
Liaison—Robert Privott
Committee Description: Reviews and formulates proposed changes to the NC Building Codes; aggressively pursues the adoption of codes that protect the affordability of housing while providing necessary protection to human health and safety; informs members of pertinent building code issues.

BUILD-PAC
Chair:  Elizabeth Cubler
Vice Chair: John McPherson 
Liaison—Jessica Boyce Hayes
Committee Description: The political fundraiser arm of the North Carolina Home Builders Association. The political action committee financially supports political candidates at the state and local levels who support our industry.

Events
Chair: Nicole Goolsby
Liaison—Deborah Alford
Committee Description: Plans and promotes 2004 quarterly meetings and other special programs and activities provided by the North Carolina Home Builders Association. Implements the new attendee ambassador program.

Executive Officers
Chair - Tim Minton
Committee Description: Executive Officer Committee is a round-table format of the latest information on issues relevant to North Carolina associations.  If an EO is having an issue that is happening in their association, he or she can bring it up at this session and other EO's give their input.  This is valuable because many times another association has dealt with the same issue, and the EO can give great advice.  Why reinvent the wheel?  We also share events  that have been successful in the previous quarter.

Land Development
Chair: Rusty Ammons
Vice Chair: Joe Jenkins
Liaison—Lisa Martin
Committee Description: Assesses the needs of the land development community, reviews issues relevant to land development and particularly issues which may impact cost of land and affordability of housing constructed on land; makes recommendations as necessary to the Legislative and Regulatory Committees; and builds support within the development community for the activities and initiatives of the Association.

Legislative
Chair:  Warren Smith

Liaison—Paul Wilms
Committee Description: Monitors the activities of the N.C. General Assembly affecting the home building industry and recommends desirable changes, and opposes undesirable changes, in the law.

Membership

Liaison—Kathryn Atkinson
Committee Description: Works on recruitment and retention of members; plans and executes the Membership Drive; evaluates member services; assists locals with membership contests, orientation, retention methods, etc.

Professional Women in Building
Chair - Dava Brown
Committee Description: Professional Women in Building is an active council made up of women and a few good men.  We plan and initiate fund raisers for build-pac and our scholarship program, share with each other what works and what doesn't plus plan and execute at least one State community project.

Public Relations
Chair: Kathy Harrington
Vice Chair: Lori Hopper
Liaison—Meaghan Bixby
Committee Description: Plans and initiates campaigns to promote the association, industry issues and annual monthly themes; recognizes local HBA's PR, as well as projects in the North Carolina Builder magazine and other communication efforts.

Regulatory Affairs
Chair: Patrick Mann
Vice Chair: Bill Boulia
Liaison—Lisa Martin
Committee Description: Reviews all regulatory changes affecting the home building industry and takes appropriate action, keeps the membership advised of pertinent regulatory issues and provides assistance to locals on regulatory issues. The affordable housing side develops initiatives and incentives for the production of affordable housing plus maintains liaison with HUD, FmHA, VA and the NC Housing Finance Agency.  Reviews affordable housing programs and gives pertinent information to the membership.

Vocational Education
Chair:  Marty Jo Wilson
Vice Chair: Bill Hall 
Liaison—Kep Paylor
Committee Description: Evaluates existing program and prepares appropriate recommendations for vocational education training.
